Mairin Higgins, RA of 2nd West Kistler
I wanted to live in the castle since I didn’t get in my first year, and being an RA was the only chance I’d get. Part of me thought I’d be good at it, and it’s beneficial to have people who are enthusiastic about the job and Arcadia in general working this position. There are a lot of perks— I like decorating, which is a small part of the job, but really fun to do. And our area coordinator has a dog, so getting to see a dog on a semi-regular basis is a big plus.
But my favorite part about being an RA is that it comes with a built-in support system. It’s just a bunch of other people who know what being both an RA and a student is like, so you can connect with others in similar situations and get their feedback and advice.
