Virtual Scarlet & Grey Day
As an Arcadia Ambassador and an enrollment management student worker, Scarlet and Grey Day is a huge day for me and the rest of my lovely Admissions office. With the ceasing of face-to-face contact due to COVID-19, this Arcadia tradition was transformed to a pretty awesome platform. As much as I missed giving tours, meeting new students in person, and most importantly, sampling the food trucks on the Haber Green, we managed to pull off an engaging virtual event—from the welcome from the Nairs, to seeing the Provost’s dog, to the personable academic session and departmental chats, and to my favorite: Meet the Current Students Live Chat. This chat consisted of ambassadors talking with students about our majors, clubs, and experiences at Arcadia.
I was wary about the entire day at first because it is really hard to create solid connections with people over social media or the internet. But the way this conversation came together reminded me once more how great our community is. We can create a space so fun and strong anywhere in the world, and that’s powerful. We went from talking about curriculum and class sizes to discussing Wawa vs. Sheetz, Philly, and pretty much all the great things to expect from this University in the fall. We even got to witness some students deposit after our conversation!
To the students I “met,” I cannot wait to meet all of you in the fall, and I’m so glad you could join us at our Virtual Scarlet and Grey Day. See you soon!
