Enrollment Management and Study Away Announce Global Scholars Program
Arcadia University’s Office of Enrollment Management and Office of Study Away have launched the Global Scholars Program, a four-year program designed to integrate a global perspective in preparation for a life of scholarship, service, and professional contribution.
This personally tailored program enables students who are interested in global issues to explore ideas and challenges in the U.S. and abroad through individual advising, peer mentoring, and structured pathways to global experiences, including internship opportunities via Arcadia’s Intern Abroad program, Intern Philly program, or Virtual Global Internships program.
“The Global Scholars program provides students avenues to connect with global activities on campus, in addition to studying and interning abroad,” said Scott Terry, director of Study Away. “Today’s global challenges need learners willing to explore their curiosities, develop a critical way of thinking, and apply their knowledge across disciplines and national boundaries. Global Scholars provides a space and community to engage in that work.”
Through this cohort program, students will engage in programming that helps them analyze and think critically of global issues. Global Scholars welcomes students from any major to join other globally minded peers to pursue new strategies to address complex problems in a dynamic world.
Students interested in applying to the Global Scholars program will submit an essay about a current global issue of their choice and how their Arcadia study abroad experience could engage them in exploring this issue.
