Arcadia University Leaders Help Develop Higher Education Data and Analytics Guide
A trio of Arcadia University leaders has contributed to the “Change with Analytics Playbook,” a guide created to help institutions of higher education make significant progress on their data and analytics goals.
Bridget Miller, Ed.D., assistant vice president for Institutional Research and Effectiveness; Rashmi Radhakrishnan, vice president of Enrollment Management, Technology & Innovation, and chief information officer; and Joan Singleton, vice president of Administration and Finance, and chief financial officer, were part of a consortium of representatives from colleges and universities across the United States that helped develop the playbook.
“It was a privilege to represent Arcadia in this collaborative project to advance analytics in higher education,” Miller said. “The resulting playbook offers valuable tools, templates, and resources to enhance data governance, analytics maturity, and data literacy. Working on this project with colleagues from other colleges and universities was a truly rewarding experience.”
Led by the Association for Institutional Research, Educause, and the National Association of College and University Business Officers—and funded by a grant from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation—the playbook contains 16 “plays” that are designed to support colleges and universities in developing and maintaining data-informed cultures and building capacities for data-informed decision-making.
The plays span four categories to help institutions throughout the process:
- Assess the Current State of Analytics
- Create and Manage a Data Strategy Plan
- Develop and Maintain a Data Governance Program
- Build and Support a Data Literate Community
Representatives from Elgin Community College, Jackson State University, Mercy University, University of Central Florida, University of Maryland, Baltimore County, and University of North Texas also lent their expertise to the playbook.
