Arcadia Hosts Successful Actuarial Interview Day
Arcadia University students had the chance to connect with potential employers at the annual Actuarial Interview Day, held virtually on September 27. This event, organized by the Computer Science and Mathematics Department in collaboration with the Office of Career Education, offered students a valuable platform to secure interviews for early career positions.
Nine employers, including Aon, WTW, Independence Blue Cross, Illumifin, Penn Mutual, Transamerica, Chubb, Canada Life, and Cheiron participated in the virtual event. They conducted interviews for 16 available positions with more than 30 students, marking a strong turnout.
“This virtual interview day provides a unique advantage for Actuarial Science and Math majors to connect with local employers early in the recruitment process, giving them priority access to job opportunities and internships for the coming year,” said Irina Pogrebivsky, assistant professor of Computer Science and Mathematics. “The event is especially crucial for securing internships, which are key stepping stones to full-time employment after graduation.”
Over the last few years, nearly all of the students who participated in interviews received job offers, highlighting the importance of this early networking opportunity.
