Arcadia Debuts New Welcome Center in Grey Towers Castle
Arcadia University debuted a brand new welcome center on the second floor of Grey Towers Castle.
The welcome center is a space for the whole community to gather and host events, and also will be critical to recruitment efforts in providing a welcoming, engaging space for prospective students and their families that captures the history, legacy, and dynamism of Arcadia.
“When I got to Arcadia three years ago, I started working with great people here – including Collene Pernicello (assistant vice president of enrollment management) and Holly Kirkpatrick (assistant vice president of financial aid) – to quickly identify what we could improve inside the Arcadia footprint,” said Rakin “Rock” Hall, vice president of enrollment management. “Very quickly, we anchored on the customer experience, that is, how you make people feel.”
“This room, and the room next to it, were not being utilized,” Hall added. “This is now our house, the people’s house. We want the Arcadia community to use this space for students, parties, events, guests… we’re going to showcase this space in every way possible. This university is worth the effort, and we understand we have to keep growing to position ourselves to be better and better.”
The welcome center is part of a two-phase effort to revitalize the East side of the second floor in Grey Towers Castle. The room next to the welcome center, previously used for storage, is now a presentation room for students, faculty, and visitors.
