Tim Smith ’09 Inspires Students Through Art
Alumnus and artist Tim Smith ’09 visited “The Artist in the Community,” a course led by adjunct professor Linda Ruth Paskell ’81, ’91 MEd, on Nov. 16 to speak about his change of career from art teacher to full-time artist.
Smith, who majored in Education and was on the baseball team at Arcadia, left his teaching career to pursue his passions. He started out by creating elaborate chalkboard drawings in his classroom of the Phillies players Bryce Harper and Aaron Nola, as well as the Phillie Phanatic.
Currently, Smith sells his art on his website, offering prints, original pieces, and other merchandise. He was Avra Art Gallery’s 2018 Featured Artist and has been featured in solo exhibitions in locations such as Jesse Creek Winery and Borgata Hotel and Casino.
