On June 4 in Paris, France, seven students graduated from the Master of Arts in International Relations and Diplomacy program, completed at the American Graduate School in Paris and accredited by Arcadia University. Held in the French Senate, the ceremony featured a Commencement address by H. E. Lawrence Cannon, Canada’s Ambassador to France and former Minister of Foreign Affairs. Along with AGS President Eileen Servidio-Delabre, Dr. Warren Haffar, dean of International Affairs at Arcadia, conferred the degrees.
“Arcadia takes special pride in AGS,” said Dr. Haffar. “What each of you graduating today has done in completing your master’s degree is of particular importance, at this point in our current history, to reaffirm the importance of diplomacy as the best tool for international relations.”
Aurora Eck Nilson ’14M, who completed a degree in International Peace and Conflict Resolution at Arcadia before pursuing a degree in International Relations and Diplomacy, addressed the new graduates.
“We are truly international people, with roots around the world,” she said. “It feels like the future could be anything, anywhere. There is no doubt that this group will go on to do amazing things.”
