Arcadia University celebrated the achievements of international students and graduating students of African, Latino, Asian, and Native American (ALANA) descent at the 17th annual ALANA & International Student Recognition Ceremony on May 11. This year, 13 graduate students and 49 undergraduate students were recognized. 

Participation in this ceremony is optional, and all who identify as being of African, Latino, Asian, Native American heritage or of international status are invited to participate. 

“This recognition is of utmost importance for our ALANA and International students, especially at predominantly and historically white institutions where their names and faces may often go unnoticed, and their stories and histories may go untold,” said Judith Dalton, assistant dean for the Office of Institutional Diversity. “At this ceremony, participants receive stoles reflective of their respective heritage.”
