Hello Arcadia! I’m one of the Assistant Directors of Global Engagement in the Division of Civic and Global Engagement, I manage our Preview and Global Field Study programs. These short term study abroad courses with a faculty-led travel component are a pillar of Arcadia’s global educational focus, and I work with colleagues to develop and integrate the academics and travel course elements, as well as to arrange most travel logistics and support students’ participation and success, including marketing, the application process, financials, program assessment, and much more. I have also served on Staff Council for the past 6 years and currently hold the role of Co-Chair.
I joined Arcadia in August of 2013, and have worked in global education for the past 4 years. I hold a BA in Spanish from the University of Washington, where I also spent an amazing semester in Seville, Spain. After the UW, I earned a Master’s in Teaching from Seattle University and worked in the public and private K-12 realm before taking the step into higher education.
I believe in the power of pushing beyond the “known” to a place where it’s necessary to trust ourselves to rise to the challenge, make mistakes, and learn from them so that perspectives broaden and confidence grows. It’s my pleasure to work to provide these opportunities for our students as they develop and thrive here at Arcadia and beyond.
Originally from the West Coast, my husband, two kids, and I moved to Pennsylvania in 2009 for a job transfer. While the move was unanticipated, we have taken full advantage of all that the Keystone State and surrounds has to offer geographically and culturally. When not on campus, you can find me, my husband, 2 graduating seniors (Arcadia and North Penn High School this spring), 2 cats, and 2 dogs in and around Lansdale, spending as much time outside as possible, planning our next travels, and always on the lookout for good live music!
