Anne Mahar is a specialist in community-based crime and corrections. This is her first academic position after completing her PhD at Old Dominion University in 2015. Professor Mahar teaches Crime and Punishment, Crime Mapping, Community Corrections, and Research Methods, among other courses. Research focuses include spatial analysis, communities and crime, corrections and prisoner reentry. Her research on the relationship between banking practices and neighborhood levels of crime and has been published by the American Journal of Criminal Justice.
