Arcadia Hosts 33rd Annual “Touch the Future” Art Show
The 33rd annual Pennsylvania State Education Association (PSEA) juried exhibition, “Touch the Future,” will be held in Arcadia’s Harrison and Rosedale galleries from Sunday, March 1 through Friday, March 27. The exhibition will feature submissions from 26 high schools in Bucks and Montgomery counties.
Sponsored by PSEA’s Mideastern Region and the Council for the Advancement of Public Schools, “Touch the Future” highlights exceptional drawings, paintings, prints, photography, sculpture, mixed media, digital images, fiber crafts, and jewelry created by local high school students. The exhibition pays tribute to Christa McAuliffe, NASA’s Teacher in Space aboard the Space Shuttle Challenger, who was quoted saying, “I touch the future. I teach.”
The exhibition began with an award ceremony on Sunday, March 1, at 2 p.m. This year, a new award was presented in memory of Sue Castle, a 30-year science teacher in the Colonial School District and former mideastern region president. Castle helped found the “Touch the Future” show and passed away in 2018. The winners of the juried show will be selected by Jordan Antrim, admissions counselor at Temple University’s Tyler School of Art. This year, 24 prizes will be awarded.
“Touch the Future” is free and open to the public Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday, noon to 4 p.m.
